Is tankless worth it in Florida?
Sometimes. Incoming water is warm here, so a tankless unit works less than it would up north and holds output well. It costs more upfront and needs periodic descaling on hard water. If you are running out of hot water with a family or you want the closet space back, it is worth pricing. If you are replacing a working 40-gallon on a budget, usually not.
Does a water heater swap need a permit?
In most Southwest Florida jurisdictions, yes — a like-for-like replacement still requires a permit and an inspection. We handle the application and schedule the inspection.
